Ghanaian singer and songwriter Abochi teams up with rapper Medikal on his latest release, “Long Distance,” a captivating collaboration that brings together melodic Afrobeats and contemporary Ghanaian rap.
Released in October 2026, “Long Distance” showcases the chemistry between Abochi’s melodic approach and Medikal’s distinctive rap delivery. The collaboration creates a balanced record that blends singing and rap while giving both artistes room to express themselves.
Produced by Abochi, the song is built around a contemporary Ghanaian sound that complements the performances of both artistes. The production provides a smooth backdrop for the vocals while maintaining an engaging rhythmic feel.
The title “Long Distance” points toward the challenges that can come with being separated from someone important. Abochi brings an emotional vocal presence to the record, while Medikal adds his own perspective through his rap contribution.
One of the standout qualities of the collaboration is the contrast between the two artistes. Abochi’s melodic performance and Medikal’s rap style create a dynamic combination that keeps the record interesting from beginning to end.
The song also highlights Abochi’s versatility as a producer and artiste, while Medikal continues to demonstrate his ability to adapt his rap delivery to different musical settings.
