Ghanaian rap heavyweight Sarkodie teams up with award-winning singer KiDi on a brand-new single titled “Deja Vu.” The collaboration brings together Sarkodie’s distinctive rap delivery and KiDi’s smooth vocals to create a heartfelt record centred on love, regret, and the desire to make things right.
Released on October 16, 2026, “Deja Vu” serves as the lead single from Sarkodie’s upcoming five-track EP, also titled DeJaVu, scheduled for release on November 27, 2026. The single gives fans an early taste of what to expect from the forthcoming project.
The song explores the challenges that can arise in a romantic relationship, particularly when mistakes and misunderstandings begin to affect the bond between two people. Through its reflective message, Sarkodie expresses regret over past actions and the desire to rebuild a relationship before it is too late.
KiDi complements the record with his melodic vocal performance, bringing warmth and emotion to the song’s romantic theme. His contribution blends naturally with Sarkodie’s storytelling, creating a collaboration that balances rap with contemporary Afrobeats influences.
One of the standout qualities of “Deja Vu” is its focus on accountability and second chances. Rather than simply expressing longing, the song reflects on the importance of recognising past mistakes, rebuilding trust, and making a genuine effort to avoid repeating the same problems.
The single also sets the stage for Sarkodie’s upcoming DeJaVu EP, which is expected to feature five tracks: “DeJaVu,” “Antigua,” “Nobody,” “Cold,” and “Promises.” The project adds another chapter to the rapper’s extensive catalogue and gives fans more music to anticipate.
With “Deja Vu,” Sarkodie and KiDi deliver a relatable collaboration that combines thoughtful storytelling, melodic vocals, and a message about love, regret, and personal growth.
