Secular music inspire and motivate more than the recent kind of Viral and dance Gospel songs - Daabour Lyriqal

Fast-rising Ghanaian musician has shown corncern over current gospel songs and the secular song.

In a candid interview with BigXposure TV, rising Ghanaian musician Daabour Lyriqal has sparked a thought-provoking discussion on the current state of gospel music.

Daabour expresses concern that many contemporary gospel artists prioritize showbiz and trends over the core message of salvation and hope.

“Gospel musicians in the past were focused on bringing out songs that preach salvation, give hope, and uplift,” Daabour shares.

He notes a stark contrast in today’s music landscape, where some gospel artists seem more invested in mimicking secular artists and chasing awards than spreading a message of faith.

Daabour specifically points out that secular musicians like Sarkodie and Black Sheriff are currently releasing tracks that inspire and motivate more than many recent gospel songs.

“Most of them (gospel artists) dress, behave, and act like us and do what we do,” he says, suggesting that the line between secular and gospel music has blurred.

The musician’s comments come as he releases his latest song, “Nyame Ay3 Awie” (“God has already done it”), a track aimed at motivating listeners and pointing them to faith.

Daabour hopes his music, and that of like-minded artists, can help shift the focus back to messages of hope and salvation.
